Emine Şahinaz Akalın is an artist, curator, and editor with international exhibition experience. Her work is situated at the intersection of critical discourse, artistic practice, and theory, focusing on socially relevant topics such as identity, migration, visibility, and perception.
Akalın is also active in community-based work as well as in arts and cultural management. She develops conceptually strong formats for the mediation of socially relevant content, with a particular emphasis on intersectional and multiperspective approaches.
In exhibitions, publications, and lectures, she combines artistic research with critical reflection, creating new interpretive spaces and narratives.
